About Us

SwitchPoint is a small but rapidly growing RIA that was intentionally built different from most of the industry – utilizing a flat annual fee (no % AUM fees) for comprehensive planning and investment management.

We have a fierce commitment to putting our clients’ interests first and to serving as a trusted expert for our clients’ entire financial lives.

We primarily serve mass affluent and high-net worth investors approaching and in retirement. Our typical client is highly educated and quite financially savvy. Most have done significant research to find us, and many have already worked with other traditional advisors. They appreciate being able to be open with us about their situation and knowing they will get thoughtful, unbiased advice.

About You

  • 5+ years of experience in financial services (strong preference for experience at a fee-only RIA)
  • Minimum 2 years as a paraplanner/associate/service advisor at a fee-only RIA with demonstrated ability to design financial plans and implement recommendations.
  • CFP® designation required – preference for advanced degree or certification (Masters, JD, CPA, CFA)
  • Clean U4 with no disclosures
  • Love of planning and passion for client service. This is a planning and client service role, not a business development or rainmaker role. Advisors who enjoy a quarterly “investment update” with hundreds of clients are not a good fit. Instead, we seek an advisor who will enjoy diving deep to solve our clients’ unique financial challenges.
  • Ability to communicate and listen effectively and respectfully – both to your clients and to the rest of our team. This includes both written and verbal communication and an ability to adapt to different audiences.
  • Both creative and detail-oriented. We offer custom solutions to a wide range of clients. An ability to think critically and problem solve is essential. At the same time, gathering data and implementing recommendations requires careful attention to detail.
  • Self-starter. This role is highly autonomous. We will provide training and operational support, but you will be expected to manage your time to meet client expectations. Our clients’ success – as well as your own success – depends on your efforts.
  • Willing to think regularly about how to improve…everything. We want every member of the team to regularly think about what changes—language choices, software tools, etc.—could improve our lives and our clients’ lives.

About the Role

As a Service Advisor you will be involved in every part of the financial planning process, including drafting plans for new clients, developing recommendations and participating in client meetings.

You will prepare for meetings, review and assign follow-up tasks after meetings, and do financial planning work in between.

The objective of this role is for you to take more and more responsibility for client relationships and transition to a lead advisor role.

SwitchPoint is set up to help you succeed. Our team is built to manage the operations of the firm and provide support to advisors. Advisors are expected to be team players and help out when needed. However, paperwork, compliance, marketing, trading, technology, and other operational tasks are not a part of the daily job.

Your focus will be on building relationships of trust with our clients and developing and implementing financial plans.

Other Requirements

If you wish to work remotely, you’ll need:

  • Reliable internet connection
  • Appropriate office space for privacy of client meetings and security of client data.
  • A reliable phone
